RULES FOR EATING OUT
by
Patricia George
I am an animal hovering and
glowering over my food.
No trading bites.
No swapping tomatoes for cucumber.
I spill the salt
and draw a line on the table with my finger:
my side, your side.
Patricia George lives in Hanford, a small valley town in California where she works as a piano accompanist for the high school choirs. She has taught public school in both Colorado and California. She appreciates the opportunity to release her captive poems from their cupboard and out into the world.
